SFMTA yellow commercial loading zone (free) / white passenger zone: San Francisco restaurant guide

SFMTA — Curb Access / Color Curb Program

What it is

A yellow zone gives delivery trucks a legal place to unload in front of the restaurant (no fee); white zones for passenger or general loading (rideshare, delivery couriers, valet staging) carry application, installation and renewal fees.

When a restaurant needs it

Frequent supplier deliveries, heavy third-party delivery pickup or valet; optional but useful on busy corridors.

How to apply

Contact the Curb Access Team (ccp@sfmta.com, 415.646.2599) to confirm eligibility, then submit the Curb Zone Request form.

Good to know

SFMTA's public pages do not describe a separate restaurant valet permit — valet staging is handled through white-zone requests to the Curb Access Team, so confirm with them before promising valet. SFMTA also installs sidewalk bike racks on request at no charge (City restaurant guide).
