Shared Kitchen Complex (SKC) tenant Public Health Permit: Los Angeles restaurant guide
LA County Public Health — Specialized Food Services
What it is
If your delivery-only or catering concept rents space in a County-approved Shared Kitchen Complex (commissary-style "ghost kitchen" building), you need your own tenant Public Health Permit in addition to the complex operator's permit.
When a restaurant needs it
Operating from a shared/commissary kitchen rather than your own build-out.
How to apply
Once the complex operator accepts you, submit the Shared Food Facility Supplemental application with the Public Health Permit/License Application to the Specialized Food Services Program.
Documents you’ll need
- Public Health Permit/License Application
- Shared Food Facility Supplemental application
- Tenant agreement with the SKC operator
- Menu and operating schedule
Good to know
Only permitted food facilities approved for food preparation may cater — Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations may not.
