Required workplace notices — LA City minimum wage/paid sick leave + California postings + IIPP: Los Angeles restaurant guide
LA Office of Wage Standards / CA DIR
What it is
Employers in the City must post the City's Minimum Wage & Paid Sick Leave notice ($18.42/hour from 7/1/2026; 48 hours of paid sick leave) plus the State's required postings (wage orders, state minimum wage, payday notice, safety, whistleblower, workers' comp, no smoking, Know Your Rights) and keep a written Cal/OSHA Injury & Illness Prevention Program.
When a restaurant needs it
Any employees.
How to apply
Download the current notices from OWS and DIR, post them where employees can see them, and write the IIPP before opening; the City Fair Chance hiring rules also apply to employers with 10+ employees.
Documents you’ll need
- LA Minimum Wage Ordinance notice (current year)
- DIR workplace postings set
- Written Injury & Illness Prevention Program
Good to know
City paid sick leave: at least 48 hours front-loaded or 1 hour per 30 worked, carryover cap of at least 72 hours. The City's Fair Work Week Ordinance covers retail employees, not restaurants.
