Fire Sprinkler Permit (LADBS): Los Angeles restaurant guide

LADBS

What it is

Required to install or modify any fire sprinkler system, standpipe or related fire-protection piping.

When a restaurant needs it

When the build-out adds, moves or changes sprinkler heads or piping (common when ceilings, walls or a hood are added).

How to apply

A licensed fire protection (C-16) contractor submits sprinkler plans for plan check (or an Express Permit for minor exempt work) and pulls the permit.
