Backflow prevention assembly (CP-100) & annual test: Philadelphia restaurant guide

Philadelphia Water Department / L&I

What it is

All commercial facilities need a City-approved backflow assembly (reduced-pressure on the domestic line) at the water service, tested every year.

When a restaurant needs it

Install if none exists or if the service is altered; test annually.

How to apply

A City-certified backflow technician obtains the CP-100 installation permit from L&I and submits annual test records to PWD.
