State Beer & Wine License (2COP): Miami restaurant guide
Florida DBPR — Division of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco
What it is
Allows beer and wine sales for on-premises consumption (and package sales). It is not limited by quota, so it is the fastest route to alcohol service.
When a restaurant needs it
Serving beer and/or wine only.
How to apply
Apply online in DBPR Online Services with fingerprints, a floor plan sketch, lease, and zoning approval executed by the City of Miami. A temporary license can be bought once the application is complete.
Documents you’ll need
- DBPR ABT-6001 application
- Fingerprint receipt for each related party (ORI FL920150Z)
- Related Party Personal Information sheets
- Floor plan sketch of licensed premises
- Lease or right of occupancy
- City of Miami zoning approval
- DOR clearance and DBPR food license (consumption on premises)
Good to know
Submit fingerprints at least 5 days before applying. Under the City's alcohol code, restaurants with a 2COP have historically been exempt from distance separation; confirm the current rule.
