Natural Gas Service Application (National Grid): Boston restaurant guide

National Grid (Boston Gas)

What it is

A new or larger gas service line and meter for a commercial kitchen is a utility project separate from the ISD gas permit. National Grid requires an electrification-options acknowledgment, an availability check, a quote for the service line and a signed Commercial Gas Service/Main Agreement.

When a restaurant needs it

Adding gas cooking equipment or a boiler where the existing meter or service can't carry the new load.

How to apply

Submit the Electrification Options Acknowledgment and Natural Gas Availability forms, get the quote, then apply through National Grid's gas Application Portal or an account manager (877-696-4743) and sign the service agreement.
